Most private clinics make you ring up to find out what a consultation costs. We would rather tell you before you book.
All consultation fees are shown below. Fees for investigations, scans and procedures are always quoted to you in writing before you commit to them.

Private medical insurance
Our consultants see patients who are covered by private medical insurance as well as those paying for themselves.
If you plan to claim, please contact your insurer before your appointment to obtain a pre-authorisation code, and bring that code and your membership number with you. Without pre-authorisation your insurer may decline the claim, leaving the fee payable by you.
Please contact the clinic before booking and we will confirm whether your specific policy and insurer are recognised for your consultation.
Do I need a GP referral?
You can book a self-funded consultation with us directly, without a referral. Many men prefer this because it is quicker and entirely private.
If you intend to claim on private medical insurance, most insurers require a GP referral letter before they will authorise the consultation. Check your policy terms first — it is the single most common reason a claim is delayed.
Video and telephone consultations
Video and telephone appointments are available with all three consultants and are charged at the rate shown in the tables above. They suit an initial discussion, a results review or a second opinion where an examination is not required. If you need to be examined, we will arrange an in-person appointment instead and tell you so at the time of booking.
How to pay
Self-funding patients settle ahead of their consultation. If you are having a procedure, you will be given a written quotation covering the surgeon, anaesthetist and hospital charges before you decide whether to go ahead.

Is the consultation fee all I will pay?
The consultation fee covers the appointment itself. Any tests, scans or procedures are charged separately and are always quoted in advance. Where a test is not necessary, we will say so.
What is a second opinion appointment?
A full review of an existing diagnosis or treatment plan, including your imaging and results, followed by a written report setting out our opinion. It is often used by patients who have been offered surgery elsewhere and want an independent view.
